Instructions for the construction of a Foden Steam Wagon.
The detail and realism in the model, built almost entirely from standard parts, is exquisite. Powered by a concealed MO motor, it features working valve gear, chain drive and steering, articulated suspension, differential and a powered winch and tipping gear.
The plan contains photographs, parts list and background information. The constructional details, illustrated throughout with IsoMec drawings, are very clear and easy to follow.

These 25 page instructions with description, diagrams and pictures describe the construction of a tenth-scale model, 44" long, using only parts in a 1970's Set 10. Powered by a Powerdrive motor and adjustable friction clutch. It has a 2-speed and reverse gearbox, an all-pinion differential and a powered winch, correctly-geared steering, leaf-spring suspension on both axles and portable load ramps, carried on board. The top deck is raised by a chain-operated simulated hydraulic ram.

Designed in the 1950's for use where Diesel fumes were unacceptable, many of these small vehicles were used by British Railways to deliver goods in narrow city streets.
Built to 1:9 scale, the model features automatic coupling, one-lever uncoupling, prototypical forward and reverse from the motor, and an all-pinion differential. The piggyback trailer has drop-down sides and removable hinged tailboard. An extra trailer has a conventional drop-down undercarriage. Both trailers are fitted with a parking brake. Uses one Meccano Powerdrive motor.
This model can be built from the contents of a Set10.
